WHAT’S DONE ON AN ANNUAL BOILER SERVICE?
Here’s a checklist of a full Boiler Service that will be carried out by the local heating engineer:
Boiler fired up to identify any faults
Check main boiler components: heat exchanger, burner, spark electrode
Check flue terminals & internal flue components are sealed properly
Check that burner is burning efficiently using a flue gas analyser
Boiler parts cleaned if necessary
Boiler casing checked to see it’s properly sealed. Replacement seal, if needed (charged separately)
Pump up the Expansion Vessel
We recommend that you request to see the heating engineer’s GasSafe ID and qualifications before they carry out your annual service.

How often should I get my boiler serviced?
To stay in the manufacturer warranty you should get a boiler service in the first 12 months and every year after.
It’s also a great idea to get your boiler serviced in Spring or Summer. You’re out of those harsh Winter months so your boiler will have worked through the toughest seasons. It’s a good time to check no problems have occurred during the Winter months and tick it off the Spring clean list for another year.
What are the annual boiler service group booking prices?
The more bookings on the day the less you pay:
2 people booked = £80 (inc. vat)
3-5 people booked = £75 (inc. vat)
6-8 people booked = £70 (inc. vat)
9-11 people booked = £65 (inc.vat)
12-14 maximum number = £60 (inc.vat)
How do I pay the heating engineer?
You pay the Gas Safe heating engineer directly once the boiler service is complete. This can be paid by cash, card or bank transfer.
What qualifications do the heating engineers have?
Engineers are Gas Safe registered, Vaillant boiler specialists and insured. Feel free to ask to see their Gas Safe card when they arrive.
